Change in the composition of Stadler’s Group Executive Board – Ansgar Brockmeyer, new Sales Director
Stadler has completed a long-planned change in the composition of its Group Executive Board: after 19 years in Stadler’s service, Sales Director Peter Jenelten has decided to move to the private holding company owned by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Peter Spuhler. Ansgar Brockmeyer has been recruited as his successor in the role of Director of Marketing and Sales. The Board of Directors yesterday unanimously appointed the graduate engineer as a member of the Group Executive Board.
Ansgar Brockmeyer is to take over the management of the Sales and Marketing Division following the decision of the Board of Directors yesterday (Monday). The 52-year-old will become a member of Stadler’s Group Executive Board at the same time. He joined Stadler on 1 February 2019 as Group Sales Manager for trains, and deputy to Peter Jenelten. Ansgar Brockmeyer studied electrical engineering and obtained his doctorate in engineering from RWTH Aachen University in 1997. From 1997 to 2013 he held various positions at what was then Siemens Verkehrstechnik (now Siemens Mobility), most recently as CEO of Business United High-Speed and Commuter Rail in Krefeld (Germany). In 2013 Brockmeyer moved to Knorr-Bremse, where he served as Chairman of the Executive Board of Knorr-Bremse Asia Pacific (Holding) Ltd. in Hong Kong until December 2018. He brings with him not only extensive technical knowledge of rail vehicles, but also a great enthusiasm for trains and locomotives. This benefits him and above all his students in his position as lecturer on «Electrical Railway Traction Drives» at the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives at RWTH Aachen University of Technology. Ansgar Brockmeyer is married and has two children.
After 19 years at Stadler, Peter Jenelten (born in 1957) has decided to take on new challenges at Peter Spuhler’s private PCS Holding. Peter Jenelten came to Stadler from Adtranz in June 2000. Over the past 20 years, the electrical engineer has succeeded in building up an international sales network at Stadler with great personal dedication. Under his responsibility for cross-site sales and marketing activities, outstanding performance was achieved, leading to a cumulative order backlog of 13.2 billion Swiss francs at the end of 2018, which is expected to result in a jump in net sales to almost 4 billion Swiss francs by 2020.
«We are delighted that in Ansgar Brockmeyer, we have found a highly qualified new Head of Sales and Marketing and successor to Peter Jenelten. We are convinced that he will successfully continue our global sales activities in order to supply customers all over the world with innovative Stadler vehicles,» said Dr. Thomas Ahlburg, Group CEO of Stadler. «We would like to thank Peter Jenelten for his extraordinary commitment to Stadler and wish him all the best for his new tasks. Peter Jenelten has undoubtedly shaped the positive perception of the company among our customers over many years. He put his heart and soul into ensuring the best possible integration of customer wishes into our vehicles.»
«On my own behalf and on behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I would like to thank Peter Jenelten for his two decades of outstanding commitment to Stadler. His work has made a major contribution to Stadler’s success. I am very pleased that my long-standing companion will continue to work alongside me in my company PCS Holding in the future,» added Peter Spuhler, Chairman of Stadler’s Board of Directors. «In Ansgar Brockmeyer, Stadler has found an equally committed and capable new head of the Sales and Marketing Division.»
With this change at the top of the Group Executive Board, Stadler is continuing the generational transition it has been planning for some time now. It began in 2016 with the appointment of new Group CFO Raphael Widmer. On 1 January 2018, Peter Spuhler then handed over the position of Group CEO to Dr. Thomas Ahlburg.
