The bi-directional vehicles will be use on the metre-gauge tram network of Basel and its surrounding area, providing an environmentally-friendly form of transport for local residents. Stadler has designed the state-of-the-art vehicles according to BLT’s requirements. Particular attention has been paid to reducing energy consumption and to heightening the safety of passengers, driver and pedestrians. The seven-section multi-articulated vehicles offer spacious, bright and barrier-free passenger compartments with wide gangways continuous low floor and several multifunctional areas. The low entrance height and seven doors per side facilitate an optimal passenger flow and dwell time. Trams are 44.18 m long and 2.40 m wide trams with capacity for 265 passengers. TRAMLINK is a modern, modular, multi-articulated, light rail vehicle with low flooring through. It feature innovative real-axle bogies that allow for a quiet and comfortable ride and maximum seating capacity over the bogies, without the need for ramps or steps.
