TRAMLINK BERNMOBIL
In December 2019, Bernmobil ordered 20 bidirectional and 7 unidirectional TRAMLINK vehicles from Stadler to serve the Swiss capital.

On the one hand, these vehicles will replace the twelve Vevey and nine RBS trams, which will reach the end of their useful life between 2023 and 2025. On the other hand, they will be used for the extension of line 9 to Kleinwabern and a frequency increase of line 9. The contract includes options up to a total of 50 trams. The TRAMLINK Bern has won the Red Dot Design Award 2023. The metre-gauge 100% low floor light rail vehicles are 42.5 m long and 2.3 m wide and provide capacity for around 260 passengers. The vehicles offer spacious, bright and barrier-free passenger compartments with wide gangways, continuous low floor and several multifunctional areas for wheelchairs, strollers and luggage. The exclusive interior design serves to ensure the comfort of the passengers and the crew. TRAMLINK is a modern and modular multi-articulated light rail vehicle characterized by an innovative real-axle bogie that allows a quiet and comfortable ride and maximum seating capacity over the bogies, without ramps or steps.
