SBB (Switzerland)

An SBB passenger train collided sideways with a construction machine while maintenance work was taking place on the tracks. The train derailed in the process and its underfloor structure was damaged. Apart from some other minor damage, the main damage was caused by the magnetic track brake, which tore off and perforated the bodywork. The axle was overstressed by the derailment and cracked. Consequently, the entire bogie hit the body and damaged the underfloor structure. Stadler repaired the damaged vehicle quickly and professionally.
