Full Service for MTR Express

In November 2013, the Swedish rail operator MTR Express ordered six five-car low-floor FLIRT multiple units from Stadler with a full-service contract until 2025. The vehicles are based on the proven FLIRT platform and were developed for the special conditions in the Nordic countries. At the start of operations, MTR Express planned to operate with five train units and to have one unit as a maintenance reserve. Thanks to the short maintenance time and good cooperation, MTR Express is able to operate all six units in daily service during peak hours, resulting in more ticket sales for the operator and additional availability for passengers.
