Stadler Polska Sp. z o.o., Poland
Stadler has three sites in Poland: the Central Europe Division is headquartered in Warsaw, there is a production centre in Siedlce, and there is a service centre in Lódź. The assembly plant in Siedlce was opened in 2007 after Stadler had been able to conclude a substantial contract in June 2006 for the development and production of FLIRT trains for the provinces of Masovia and Silesia. The site in Siedlce comprises around 27,000 m2 of production and storage space and is home to a workforce of almost 800.
Stadler Polska builds trains for the Polish market and for export. 312 vehicles had been built at the Siedlce plant by the end of September 2016. 54 of them were destined for the domestic market, and 258 were delivered to rail operators in Germany, Estonia, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands and Belarus.
In September 2016, Stadler Polska Sp. z o.o. and Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. announced their intention to step up their cooperation in the area of city rail and trams. The two companies are now going onto the market as a consortium. The first joint initiative will be a joint tender for trams in Krakow. Furthermore, Stadler and Solaris will be taking part in further bidding processes for trams in Poland, as well as in other European countries.
