KISS WESTbahn
On June 2009, Westbahn placed an order for the construction of doubledeck trains to be used for the intercity service between Vienna and Salzburg. From 2011, Stadler will supply a total of 7 six-part trains. The new double-deck railcars from Stadler are all 150 metres long and they offer the kind of comfort you would expect from a first-class car in every single coach. Each train provides 501 comfortable seats and all intermediate trailers are equipped with a bistro where passengers can purchase food and beverages. Westbahn plans to have six members of customer support staff on each train, who will be able to assist passengers during the journey by selling tickets, performing cleaning tasks and providing general customer service. The trains weigh 296 tonnes each and can reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h. The vehicles are scheduled to go into service in 2011.
