A newcomer from Berlin is ceremoniously greeted in Graz – First Variobahn delivered

The first of 45 Variobahn trams has been ceremoniously delivered to Graz AG today.

“We thank Graz AG for the trust it has placed in us”, explains Michael Daum, CEO of Stadler Pankow GmbH. “We worked together very successfully and can now deliver the first vehicle on time. Understandably, every operator has his own ideas on how his future trams should look.” Michael Daum further states, “Amongst other things, our competence lies in the ability to implement these visual and functional needs.”

Stadler’s kick-off in Bergen (Norway) – the first Variobahn reaches its destination on time

The first of 12 Variobahn trams was delivered to Bergen yesterday. The rest of the fleet is scheduled to be delivered to the customer Bybanen by the end of 2010.

“Just under two years from signature of the contract to delivery of the first Variobahn is a relatively short time for such a large project – we are very proud to have met this demanding schedule,” explains Ulf Braker, Sales Manager and trams project manager at Stadler Pankow GmbH.

BLT orders main series of Tango tram

Baselland Transport AG (BLT) is to order a further 15 Tango trams from Stadler Rail, exercising the first of the agreed options. The order has a volume of around CHF 74 million and will be processed at the Stadler site in Altenrhein. The Tango meets the high demands of the tram network in the city of Basel with an 8-percent gradient, curve radii of as little as 11.8 metres and pronounced crests and hollows.
