The Mazovian Region in Poland has ordered 10 four-unit low-floor FLIRTs. These trains will service the most frequented line in the Mazovian Region once they are delivered to Koleje Mazowieckie (KM) – the regional train company. The FLIRT (Fast Light Innovative Regional Train) sets a new tone in suburban transport. The light, friendly, passenger area with an end-to-end walk-through corridor offers passengers maximum comfort. The floor height is 800mm and is therefore optimised for a passenger exchange from both higher and lower platform heights. An electric lift is available for passengers with restricted mobility to enable unimpeded boarding of the train. The vehicle will be assembled in the newly opened Polish Stadler factory in Siedlce and is a 3kV DC equipped modification of the basic FLIRT which has proven so successful in Europe.
