First findings on the cause of the derailment in Norway

This afternoon, the Accident Investigation Board Norway published a preliminary report about the derailment of a test train last Wednesday. It determined that the train was travelling at a speed of 135 km/h at the time the brakes were applied.

Since last Wednesday, the Accident Investigation Board Norway (AIBN) has been investigating the cause of the derailment of the Stadler FLIRT Number 5 (74005) south of Oslo. At the time of the accident, the train, which was commissioned by the Norwegian State Railways (NSB), was on a scheduled test run.

Erste Resultate zur Ursache der FLIRT-Entgleisung in Norwegen heute erwartet

Stadler Rail ist über die Entgleisung des FLIRT’s Nummer 5 in Norwegen sehr betroffen. Die Ursache der Entgleisung wird zurzeit von der norwegischen Havariekommission untersucht. Erste Ergebnisse werden voraussichtlich heute erwartet. Stadler Rail wartet diese offiziellen Ergebnisse ab, um weiter zur Situation Stellung zu nehmen.

Gestern ist um ca. 10.30 Uhr auf der Strecke Vestfoldbahn (Verbindung Drammen – Skien) der Stadler FLIRT Nummer 5 (74005) für die norwegischen Staatsbahnen (NSB) entgleist. Erster von 16 Doppelstockzügen KISS für die ODEG im Testbetrieb

KISS wird ab Dezember 2012 im Stadtbahn-Netz Berlin/Brandenburg fahren

Der Schienenfahrzeughersteller Stadler Pankow GmbH, ein Tochterunternehmen der Schweizer Stadler Rail Group, produziert derzeit für die BeNEX GmbH und die NETINERA Deutschland GmbH 16 elektrische Doppelstocktriebzüge vom Typ KISS. Die Triebwagen werden ab Fahrplanwechsel 2012 auf den Strecken des Netzes „Stadtbahn“ in Berlin/Brandenburg von der Ostdeutschen Eisenbahn GmbH ODEG betrieben. Vor der offiziellen Übergabe an die ODEG wird nun das erste Fahrzeug vom Produktionsstandort in Pankow nach Velten überführt, wo die Inbetriebnahme sowie Testfahrten beginnen. Im Anschluss wird das Fahrzeug notwendige Typprüffahrten durchführen.

The first new Zentralbahn train has arrived

The first of 10 new Zentralbahn trains was rolled out today at Stadler Rail in Bussnang (canton of Thurgau). As well as being particularly light, dynamic and comfortable, this new train is also impressively quiet. The order as a whole is worth a total of around CHF 140 million, making it the largest order for rack-and-pinion rail vehicles ever issued in the world.

Stadler Variobahn for London completes successful test run in Chemnitz

The Variobahn from Stadler Pankow GmbH has successfully completed its test run and will shortly be delivered to London. Last summer, British tram operator London Tramlink ordered six Variobahn five-carriage trams, with an option on eight more vehicles, in order to provide modern transport capacity to meet increasing demand in the Croydon tram network.

The Variobahn already underwent additional test runs on the premises of Chemnitzer Verkehrs-AG (CVAG) in late 2011. Prior to this, a representative of TAB Sachsen had checked the vehicle over and approved it for tests on the CVAG network.
