Stadler Rail Expands Presence in North America, Opens U.S. Subsidiary
Stadler Rail Group is opening a U.S. subsidiary in order to better serve the growing North American Rail passenger market.
Bussnang, Switzerland - Stadler Rail AG, passenger rail vehicle supplier of customer-specific solutions, today announced the opening of Stadler US Inc, which will service customers in the United States and support sales of all the Stadler products in North America. Stadler’s previous success of selling 37 rail vehicles to New Jersey Transit, and Texas Authorities Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Denton County Transportation Authority, has led the company to expand its presence in North America.

Stadler trains for Apulia
Stadler Rail has received an order from Ferrovie Appulo Lucane (FAL) for the supply of nine multiple-unit trains. The modern, narrow-gauge vehicles will enter service on FAL’s network south-west of Bari, in Apulia, Italy, from 2013. Order volume amounts to around EUR 45 million (including replacement-parts package). 4 three-carriage and 5 two-carriage diesel-electric multiple-unit trains make up the order, which takes the number of trains sold by Stadler to Italy across the 100 mark.
