Stadler presents mock-up of Berlin underground train at UITP in Geneva
The first Stadler underground trains in Berlin will start service for Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) in 2015. The UITP congress in Geneva at the end of May will be the first opportunity for international industry professionals to view the model of the new IK underground train in the form of a walk-in 1:1 mock-up. In the UITP’s host city Geneva, visitors can travel on the Tango trams from Stadler. What sets this tram family apart is that it has already been built in a wide range of customer-specific variations.

Stadler trains for four rail companies in Western Switzerland

The rail companies Transports de la région Morges–Bière–Cossonay (MBC), Transports Vallée de Joux Yverdon-les-Bains Ste-Croix SA (TRAVYS), Compagnie du Chemin de fer Montreux Oberland Bernois (MOB) and Transports publics fribourgeois (TPF) have awarded the contract for 17 new trains to Stadler Bussnang AG. The first vehicles will be delivered in early 2015. The order is worth a total of CHF 150 million.

Stadler flirting in Serbia
Serbian Railways (ŽS) has ordered 21 electric FLIRTs (Fast Light Innovative Regional Train) from Stadler Rail for commuter rail services in the Belgrade region. The contract worth around EUR 100 million was signed today in Belgrade. The order is being financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London. The vehicles will be delivered in two-week intervals between autumn 2014 and late summer 2015. The trains are very environmentally friendly due to their low energy consumption.

Stadler wins order for the delivery of 48 FLIRTs in Hungary
Stadler Rail has won a tender for the delivery of altogether 48 electric multiple units to Hungary. The public procurement was issued jointly by Hungarian State Railways MÁV and Austrian-Hungarian regional operator GYSEV in November 2012. The result of the tender was announced on 26 February, the delivery contract will be signed by the parties during the next 30 days. Stadler wins commuter train order in Moscow
Stadler Rail has won the tender by Russian rail operator Aeroexpress for the delivery of 24 double-decker multiple-unit trains. These trains will be used on the commuter railway lines running between the centre of Moscow and the three airports. The order is worth a total of around EUR 350 million and will be processed partly at the new Stadler factory in Minsk and partly in Switzerland. The Minsk factory is currently under construction and will start service in autumn 2013. The order also includes an option for 13 more trains.
