Trogenerbahn
The Trogenerbahn (today called "Appenzellerbahnen") procured two new low-floor railcars in 2004 for service on the St. Gallen – Trogen line. Since that time the Trogenerbahn has exercised an option for an additional three vehicles. The Stadler vehicle design allows for the construction of three-unit lowfloor railcars using proven GTW components. By the central placement of the traction equipment in the middle railcar, the twin bogies provide sufficient traction power to easily manage steep inclines. A spacious seating arrangement is also available. To assure a greater level of comfort for the passengers, the vehicles are equipped with an air conditioning system as well as an air-suspended bogie which provides a quiet – and therefore comfortable – journey.
