An order for 11 four-unit FLIRTs (Fast Light Innovative Regional Trains) has been placed by the Südostbahn (SOB) (Southeast Train) Company. These vehicles are compatible with the SBB‘s FLIRT trains as well as the "Thurbo“ articulated railcar (GTW) and can therefore be coupled with multiple heading. The SOB’s FLIRT offers seating to 217 and standing room to 243 passengers and meets the standards set by the equality law for the disabled by offering a spacious WC cabin. The FLIRT (Fast Light Innovative Regional Train) sets a new benchmark in suburban transport. A walk-through passenger compartment optimized for platform heights of 550 mm and rapid acceleration are two of the train‘s outstanding features.
