The Graz-Köfl acher Railway and Bus Operation GmbH (GKB) has ordered 13 new diesel-powered articulated railcars of the GTW 2/8 type for operation on the Graz–Köfl ach and Graz–Wies–Eibiswald routes in the south-west Steiermark (Styria). The ordered trains are a further development of the vehicles delivered to operators in Holland, and which are in commercial operation since 2006. The new trains for GKB meet the latest requirements for energy absorption in collisions (EN 15227), as well as the requirements with regard to the design of rail vehicles suitable for use by disabled persons (TSI PRM as well TSI-Tunnel and TSI-Noise).The Graz-Köflacher Railway and Bus Operation GmbH (GKB) has procured 13 new diesel-powered articulated railcars of the GTW 2/8 type for operation on the Graz-Köflach and Graz-Wies-Eibiswald routes in the south-west Steiermark (Styria).
