Upgrading and overhaul

Periodic overhauls of vehicles increase their operational safety and availability. It also helps them to retain their value.  Selective upgrading to existing vehicles leads to improved performance, greater comfort and more value – for rail operators and passengers.

Virtually all aspects of existing vehicles can be upgraded: such as with retrofitting electric systems (automatic train control, HVAC system, automated ticketing, fire protection devices, etc.), by increasing passenger comfort (ergonomic seats, new toilet systems, redesigning the passenger compartment, etc.) or with adaptations such as changes in floor height or extending the vehicle.

Stadler checks vehicle fleets professionally and cost-efficiently. The focus of attention during periodic overhauls is on bogies, couplers, HVAC systems, compressors an on other sub-systems which are not critical to operation.
