Hessische Landesbahn acquires a further four FLIRT regional multiple-unit trains from Stadler
-Introduction of FLIRTs from December 2014, between Schwalmstadt-Treysa and Kassel
-Order volume around EUR 15 million
Berlin, 15 December 2011. Hessische Landesbahn GmbH (HLB) has acquired four 3-unit electric low-floored FLIRTs from Stadler Pankow GmbH, significantly expanding its existing vehicle fleet with this order worth around EUR 15 million. Nine FLIRTs have already been in use by HLB on the Frankfurt–Giessen–Siegen and Giessen–Marburg routes since 2010.

Stadler successful in Helsinki
Stadler Rail has received an order for an additional nine FLIRTs (Fast Light Innovative Regional Trains) from Junakalusto Oy in Finland. This is an option from the 2006 contract to buy 32 FLIRTs for the Helsinki suburban railway system. The first vehicles have been operating successfully for three years now. The trains are especially robust in severe winter conditions such as those experienced in Finland. The total order value is EUR 54 million. The 700th FLIRT will run in South Tyrol
Stadler Rail has received an order for eight 6-carriage FLIRTs (Fast Light Innovative Regional Trains) from Südtiroler Transportstrukturen AG (STA). In addition, STA is ordering eight intermediate cars to increase the capacity of the FLIRTs already in service. In total, the order is worth around EUR 75 million. With this order, the number of FLIRTs sold exceeds the 700 threshold. Stadler has now sold 115 trains in Italy.

Into the future of shunting with hybrid locomotives
SBB Cargo and Stadler celebrate vehicle premier in Winterthur
Today, SBB Cargo and Stadler Winterthur AG presented the new hybrid locomotive, type Eem 923, for the first time. Early 2012, SBB Cargo will start service with the first of the 30 locomotives ordered. They will enable an environmentally-friendly and more efficient line and delivery service.
