Roll-out of the first FLIRT for Helsinki
Today, Junakalusto and Stadler Rail jointly celebrated the roll-out in Bussnang of the first of 32 FLIRT (Fast Light Innovative Regional Train) for the Helsinki S-Bahn. Pääkaupunkiseudun Junakalusto Oy, a subsidiary company of the cities of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen and the Finnish State Railway, awarded this order, with a value of around Euro 190 million, to Stadler at the end of 2006.This is also the first broad-gauge train from the Stadler company. STADLER and VIAS start FLIRTing
The 500th FLIRT from the Stadler company will travel along the Rhine from 2010. The contract was signed today at the Innotrans trade fair in Berlin.
Stadler Pankow GmbH has received an order from VIAS for the delivery of 12 four-part and 7 three-part regional trains of the FLIRT model.
The vehicles will be introduced onto the Rheingau sub-network from December 2010 and will run on the Frankfurt – Wiesbaden – Koblenz – Koblenz-Lützel line. The order has a value of approx. Euro 70 million.

The future of Stadler Winterthur
Stadler Rail is building the Winterthur location into the Bogie Competence Centre for the whole Stadler Group. For this reason, Stadler is building a new factory in Oberwinterthur and will be investing at total of almost CHF 28 million in buildings, machinery and equipment. Stadler wins in Norway
The Norwegian National Railways NSB have today awarded the order for a total of 50 FLIRT trains plus an option for 100 further trains to Stadler Rail. This fleet renewal represents the largest order ever placed by the NSB. Up to 2013, Stadler will deliver 26 five-part trains for the S-Rail operation in the Oslo area. A further 24 five-part trains will be ordered from Stadler for medium-length routes throughout the whole of Southern Norway up to the area around Bergen. The order has a volume of CHF 640 million.
