Stadler’s innovations at InnoTrans 2010

In 2010 Stadler Rail Group will once again be attending the largest international trade fair for rail vehicles, InnoTrans in Berlin. Under the motto “Die ZUGkunft gestalten wir” (We are on track to shape the future), Stadler will present itself to the public in Hall 2.2, and showcase three multiple-unit trains and a tram in the open-air section. Thanks to these new types of vehicles, Stadler Rail Group is once again able to prove its innovative strength and expertise in the construction of rail vehicles. Stadler sells its 450th Regio-Shuttle RS1 diesel multiple-unit train

Stadler Pankow GmbH received the contract from the Strohgäubahn administration board of the regional council of Ludwigsburg for the delivery of eight Regio-Shuttle RS1 trains.

With the signing of the contract in July 2010, Stadler Pankow GmbH completed the sale of its 450th Regio-Shuttle RS1 vehicle.

The trains will be in service on the Strohgäubahn line between Korntal and Heimerdingen in Baden-Württemberg. The delivery of the vehicles will begin in early 2012, with the passenger service scheduled to start in the first half of that year. The order is worth approximately EUR 15 million.

Arriva Netherlands buys its 99th Stadler-train

Arriva Netherlands has ordered another 38 GTW articulated multiple-unit trains from Stadler Rail. This order brings the total number of GTWs ordered from Stadler Rail to 99 trains that are used in various regions across the Netherlands. The contract has a total value of around EUR 140 million. Delivery of the trains will begin in the autumn of 2012. The signed contract is for 14 electric and 24 diesel-electric trains. These vehicles are further developed versions of the Arriva GTW trains that are already being successfully in operation. More Variobahn trams for the Ruhr area

BOGESTRA exercises its option to order 15 more trams from Stadler Pankow GmbH

BOGESTRA is moving ahead with the modernisation of its fleet of trams: the company specialising in local transport systems is to buy 15 further Variobahn trams from Stadler Pankow GmbH and is thus exercising the option it arranged in 2005 when it ordered the first 30 trams. The delivery of the trams is due to take place between 2013 and 2015. The total investment in the new vehicles is approximately EUR 30 million.

Two new plants for Stadler Rail Group

Today Stadler Rail Group will formally inaugurate two new plants in Altenrhein and in Oberwinterthur. Peter Spuhler, owner and CEO of Stadler Rail Group will open the new Centre of Competence for double-decker multiple-unit trains, in the presence of the President of the Confederation, Doris Leuthard, and many other representatives from the fields of politics and economics. At the same time, the company will celebrate the roll-out of the first double-decker multiple-unit train (DOSTO) for the Zurich commuter railway system.
