Stadler wins in Belarus

Stadler Rail has won the international tender to deliver Belarus Railways with ten FLIRTs (Fast Light Innovative Regional Train). The contract was signed this afternoon in Minsk, with a volume of around EUR 60 million (including reserve materials). Delivery of the four-carriage trains will already start in December this year and continue until the middle of 2012. The trains are more or less identical to the 32 FLIRTs manufactured for Helsinki. 10 years of Stadler in Berlin

The Pankow works was taken over by the Swiss rail vehicle manufacturer Stadler Rail AG in the year 2000 when it was threatened with closure. 2001 saw the first order for seven Regio-Shuttle trains and the acquisition of another site in Velten (Oberhavel district). Continuous developments in the available products and the entry into new market segments allowed the site to be consolidated over the following years. The first successes – 20 FLIRTs for cantus Verkehrsgesellschaft along with 30 Variobahn trains and 6 of the new Tango light rail vehicles for Bochum – came in 2004.

Stadler’s appeal gains positive opinion of the National Appeal Chamber

Stadler’s appeal against the cancellation of the tender for the delivery of 16 EMUs held by Koleje Mazowieckie has gained the positive opinion of the National Appeal Chamber (Krajowa Izba Odwoławcza). According to the National Appeal Chamber, Koleje Mazowieckie had no legal grounds to cancel the tender. Stadler, a leading system supplier of customer-specific solutions for rail vehicle construction, decided to appeal against the decision of Koleje Mazowieckie (Mazovian Railways), because despite the fact that the Stadler’s offer of the modern and popular FLIRT trains, assembled in Siedlce, received the best evaluation in the tender, Koleje Mazowieckie cancelled ...

Stadler builds “mega-locomotive”

Stadler Rail is building the world’s biggest and most powerful ever rack-and-pinion locomotive for the Brazilian cargo company MRS Logística S.A.
MRS has ordered seven of these locomotives from Stadler, worth about CHF 60 million (including reserve materials), for the freight line from São Paulo to the docks in Santos. An option for three further locomotives has also been agreed. The vehicles will be built in Bussnang and delivered in 2012/2013. Once again, thanks to its high levels of innovation, Stadler Rail has been able to handle another order with 80% added value in Switzerland ...

Roll-out of the LEB’s first new suburban train

Cantonal councillor François Marthaler, head of the Department of Infrastructure, Yvan Nicolier, chairman of the Lausanne-Echallens-Bercher-Bahn (LEB), and Peter Spuhler, owner and CEO of Stadler Rail, together with other guests, today celebrated the roll-out of the first of six new RBe 4/8 multiple-unit trains at Echallens station. The invited guests were able to take this opportunity to experience the benefits of the new trains for themselves on the inaugural journey from Echallens to Bercher and back.
