CJSC Stadler Minsk, Belarus

Stadler operates an assembly plant in Fanipol near Minsk which supplies the CIS countries with the latest rolling stock. There is great potential for upgrading the rolling stock in the states of the former Soviet Union, and more especially in Russia. The Stadler plant in Minsk was newly built in 2013 and equipped with the very latest technologies. A workforce of around 450 is employed on 35,000 m2 of production space.

Among other things, the plant in Minsk is used for the assembly of KISS double-decker trains, of FLIRT EMU and of Metelitsa broad-gauge trams which have been specially developed for the CIS markets. The first order to be processed in Minsk is the series of four-car and six-car double-decker multiple units for the Russian rail operator Aeroexpress. In August 2016, Stadler Minsk and Transport Concession Company TCC concluded a contract for the delivery of 23 Metelitsa trams. This order is scheduled to be realized within two years; the delivery of the first tram wagon is expected in mid-July 2017.
